Exchange to LotusLive Migration
Brought to you by Applicable

Delivering the right technology choice for your business today can mean migration to a newer version of existing software or migration to a different vendor.

If you are considering migrating from Exchange to LotusLive, Applicable has the capabilities and expertise to get you there successfully.
When considering migration services consider whether they deliver:
  • Measurable business outcomes.
  • Co-existence tested with a scale replica.
  • Reconstruction services to deliver equivalent functionality in new systems.
  • Decommissioning to ensure the old infrastructure is removed.

Migrations which meet measurable business requirements

Migrations continue to be necessary, and potentially expensive and intrusive. Before carrying out these kinds of projects we begin with a fitness check in terms of business collaborative maturity. We may require a full collaboration maturity assessment before we will undertake a migration.
These early assessments pay dividends later with our proven track record of successful project delivery meeting agreed business outcomes.
Our extensive experience includes on-premise, cloud, and hybrid migrations. Ask us for a reference for a migration requirement similar to your own and we will be happy put you in touch with one of our customers.

Co-existence

A co-existence strategy is a key part of our migration project approach. We define co-existence solutions to ensure that the functionality provided meets our customers' requirements, has capacity that is fit for purpose, and meets user-experience expectations during the migration.

In the Test and Design Phase, we use a scale replica environment to demonstrate the relevant features and options for co-existence. We explain and demonstrate co-existence options so that customers can assess features and functionality from the technical, operational and user-experience perspectives. We demonstrate the options so that our customers can make well-informed decisions.

Our co-existence services range from simple mail routing co-existence to full directory synchronisation across a range of different directories and full user entity management.

By allowing our customers to simulate migrations in a replica of their current and future environments, we give them hands-on experience of the migration process and the impact on their users. Customers can set and meet accurate user expectations - key in maintaining grass roots support during a migration project.

As co-existence is a temporary situation and not an end in itself, we often provide the co-existence platform as a 24x7, high availability managed service. Customers have no need to acquire skills in the co-existence solution for the temporary co-existence phase. The managed co-existence service increases customer confidence, and helps us to manage the end-to-end migration process.

Reconstruction

Our Application Readiness Assessment provides a standard set of migration-specific information for all applications in the infrastructure for co-existence and migration. Customers use this to assess application usage, size, complexity and business criticality.

We build an application migration matrix, identifying the appropriate migration approach. Some applications will migrate using tools from our partners, others may require reconstruction to deliver equivalent functionality in the chosen destination infrastructure. Others will be obsolete and can be retired.

We aim to enhance functionality when reconstructing applications as part of a migration – customer business cases are more sustainable when we demonstrate enhanced business value rather than a simple like-for-like migration.

Decommissioning

Targeting business critical applications drives adoption of collaboration in our customers and allows us to build on the platform for future application development and customisation. The ability for the customer to decommission their legacy environment is a key objective as it removes cost and complexity from their estate. The last application migration completes the process and allows the customer to decommission and realise their forecast ROI and business value.
