4. Reduced storage requirement - Lotus Domino 8.5 provides technology to reduce storage by 25% based on Domino 8. compression as well as a 15% to 50% reduction in attachment storage using the Domino 8.5 Attachment and Object store (DAOS). As a result, backup storage is also significantly reduced.

5. Server consolidation
meaning reduced HW and SW maintenance and reduces power consumption (less boxes to run and less cooling required) - Whilst it may be impractical to reduce power and cooling, it does mean that existing facility will be able to expand without the need to add more power, cooling and/or rack space.
6. xPages. Notes/Domino 8.5 has the ability to enhance existing Domino applications for delivery on mobile device. The application development features within Domino R8.5 have been modernised and updated for Web 2.0 with a full Eclipse version for the developer client released.
