Liquid Licensing is Applicable's newest Software as a Service offering delivering IBM Lotus software on-demand. Applicable can now offer a cost effective alternative to the traditional IBM software delivery model to one that offers both on-premise and cloud computing in a SaaS model for IBM Lotus technologies.
Applicable are bolstering the traditional IBM Passport Advantage model by offering IBM Lotus Domino, Sametime, Connections and Quickr on a simple per user/per month basis. The most defining characteristics of Liquid Licensing is that IBM Lotus licenses are provided as a monthly subscription-based model rather than the single up-front annual license fee sold for perpetual. Billing is monthly, based upon user volumes with no fixed term. Simply dial up the user count or dial down on a month by month basis.
Key Benefits:
> Lower TCO for IBM Lotus software
> Flexible "pay as you go" subscription licensing model
> Scalability without any tie in to up-front annual license fees
> Removes the risk of annual software acquisition/renewals
> Traditional models involved the outright purchase of the software license prior to usage.
"Applicable has been active in the SaaS market for several years, selling our own cloud offerings and working closely with an exclusive ecosystem of channel partners" said Peter Ross, Operation Manager of Applicable Australia.
“With the new monthly IBM Lotus licensing model, not only are our customers but also our ISV partners able to leverage the licensing model.” The SaaS licensing model can also be provided to our customers with on premise Lotus estates without the need to migrate to the cloud.
