Applicable have recently completed the successful migration of ICRT’s Domino messaging and application platform to 8.5. The upgrade will be followed by Domino development training for ICRT’s internal application support team to assist them with the upgrade of their Domino web based applications.

As early adopters of the Domino 8.5 code stream, the key driver for the upgrade for ICRT was DAOS: Domino Attachment and Object Service, new in Notes and Domino 8.5 manages a shared repository of referenced objects on disk, saving significant disk space and reducing I/O and time to compact, among other benefits. The referenced objects that DAOS manages in its initial release are document attachments.

DAOS reduces or eliminates duplicate attached files within a single Notes Storage Facility (NSF) file or across multiple NSF files on the same server.
